TD at border protest in call on Taoiseach
Republicans ``in no mood to facilitate unionist foot -dragging''
Speaking at a Sinn Fein protest at Aughnacloy on the border between Counties Tyrone and Monaghan this morning, Sinn Fein TD Caoimhghin O Caolain said: ``Today's protest marks the passing of the deadline in the Good Friday Agreement for the establishment of the shadow Executive and all-Ireland Ministerial Council. Republicans are angered that this deadline has been allowed to pass by David Trimbled. There is concern that if this is allowed to continue we could be facing more slippage in the implementation of the Agreement in the weeks and months ahead. ``I call on An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to press Tony Blair on the vital need not to allow this slippage to take place. The British Prime Minister must impress upon David Trimble his onerous responsibility as Frist Minister. ``Republicans have come a very long distance to accept the Good Friday Agreement. They are in no mood to facilitate the foot-dragging of the unionists''.
