SF TD pledges support to jailed building workers
Pledging support for the two jailed building workers Willie Rogers and Dave McMahon Sinn Fein TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin said:
``Every month brings more revelations about the massive evasion of tax actively encouraged by financial institutions. We have seen none of those responsible hauled before the courts yet two workers who want to be in the PAYE tax system, enjoying proper pay and safe conditions in the building industry, are sent to jail.
``I pledge my support to the two jailed workers and to the campaign for labour rights in the booming building industry. The use of the Industrial Relations Act against this campaign is to be deplored and those building workers who have taken a stand are to be commended.''
