Visa Bill welcomed

Sinn Fein Representative to the United States, Rita O'Hare, welcomes the passage of H.R. 4293 ``to establish a cultural and training program for disadvantaged individuals from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland,'' and congratulates Congressman Walsh and Senator D'Amato for their work in getting the bill passed.

Speaking in New York, Ms O'Hare said:

``These visas, targeted directly at economically disadvantaged areas, provide opportunities for the recipients to develop their education and employ their skills in a practical way. What is absolutely essential is that they can use the experience gained in America in jobs at home. Investment and jobs creation for these areas must be a priority.''
