Sinn Fein voices disappointment at Blair's comments
Sinn Fein Councillor Francie Molloy, who is in attendance at the Labour Party Conference, has voiced the party's disappointment at comments made by the Labour Leader, Tony Blair.
Mr. Molloy said:
``Tony Blair should learn from the past seventeen years that the Tory policy of trying to marginalise and isolate Sinn Fein has been a total failure. This policy has only contributed to prolonging the conflict.
``Mr. Blair should be aware that it was Sinn Fein, along with others who initiated the Peace Process and without us there would not have been one.
``Sinn Fein is not excluding itself from negotiations. The British government, for its own selfish political interests, are excluding us. Tony Blair should listen and learn from those members of the Labour Party with a long history of association with Ireland.''
