Re-establish a credible peace process
Sinn Fein Chairperson Mitchel McLaughlin speaking today in
Derry said:
``The present situation is fragile and dangerous. What has
happened in London underlines just how serious the situation
is. We need to apply all our resolve to the necessary task
of re-establishing a credible and effective peace process.
We do not have a credible process, there is no confidence
that the talks at Stormont as presently constituted will
contain the elements necessary to produce peace.
``For that to happen an inclusive talks process needs to be
rebuilt. An incomplete process can only produce an
incomplete and flawed result.
``What is required are inclusive negotiations, without
pre-conditions, within a realistic time-frame and backed up
by confidence building measures from the British.''
