RUC Mutiny - The Question Remains
Statement from Fermanagh Sinn Fein Councillor, Gerry Mc Hugh commented on the announcement today that four members of the RUC were suspended from duty because of their involvement in loyalist parades.
Cllr. Mc Hugh said:
``It will not come as a surprise to the nationalist people of Fermanagh that members of the RUC were involved with loyalists at road-blocks. The RUC are inextricably linked to both the Orange Order and other loyal institutions emotionally and by being actual members of such bodies.
``The big question that has yet to be answered is to what extent was the direct involvement of the RUC, in the form of a mutiny, responsible for the British government caving in to the Unionist organised revolt at Drumcree.'' ENDS
