Hundreds march against drugs in Kilbarrack
Hundreds of people took part in an anti-drugs march in Kilbarrack last night. The march centred on Swan's Nest Court where open heroin dealing has been taking place. One pusher dispenses heroin through the letterbox of a flat in the complex. Last week addicts from all over Dublin were coming to the flats to buy heroin. In response angry residents organised last night's march and have pledged to continue their campaign until pushers are forced out. Speaking at the rally Sinn Fein Dublin North East candidate Larry O'Toole pledged support for the community:
``Tribute is due to people who came out here tonight in spite of the intimidation from pushers. This campaign is spreading all over Dublin and must continue with a multi-faceted approach to the crisis. This must include treatment for addicts, education for children and removal of pushers from communities.''
