Eve of poll message from Pat Doherty
Speaking at an eve of poll election rally in Strabane Sinn Fein Vice President Pat Doherty called on nationalists in West Tyrone to seize this opportunity to return a Sinn Fein MP for the Constituency.
Mr. Doherty said:
``We are now less than 24 hours away from one of the most important elections that the people of the Six Counties have ever faced. With Sinn Fein now substantially ahead of the SDLP the real choice for the people of West Tyrone lies between Sinn Fein and the Unionist candidate.
``The choice facing nationalist people West of the Bann is between continued misrepresentation and moving forward with confidence into negotiations and real peace.
``Sinn Fein want inclusive talks. We want a lasting peace. We want an end to discrimination with equality for all. We want jobs created West of the Bann. We want to represent all of the people of this constituency regardless of religion, gender or race.
``On Thursday Sinn Fein are calling for an electoral pact with the nationalist people. We are asking you to support this new opportunity to rebuild the peace process and to send a clear message to the incoming government calling for inclusive talks. On Thursday the choice will be between Pat Doherty and the Unionists. To each nationalist voter I say - your vote will make the difference. Use your vote for real representation.''
