SF proposals on representation ``responsible and workable''
Sinn Fein Assembly Member for Foyle Mitchel McLaughlin today described the party's proposals regarding representation for citizens in the Six Counties in the Oireachtas as ``responsible and workable'' and called for them to be ``enthusiastically endorsed''.
Mr. McLaughlin said:
``The presence of such senior members of our party at a very crucial time in the peace process emphasises the importance of this issue. We see it as an essential element in the creation of a new political dispensation in Ireland, echoing and complementing the key cross-border All-Ireland elements of the Good Friday Agreement.
``We hope that the Committee will take this on board and not only reflect it but enthusiastically endorse it in its report. These are responsible and workable proposals.''
