Belfast Lord Mayor to meet senior representatives from Boeing

Sinn Fein Mayor of Belfast Alex Maskey MLA will today hold meetings with the Mayor of Seattle, Greg Nickels, and senior representatives from aircraft manufacturers `Boeing' with the aim of sustaining and increasing the large investment which has been made so far by US in Belfast.

Cllr. Maskey said,

`` So far on this unprecedented trip my message of Inward Investment, Job Creation and Peace has been well received. I will continue with my work to see the investment which has been made by the US in Belfast continued and, hopefully, increased during today's meeting with Mayor Greg Nickels of Seattle and Senior representative from aircraft manufacturers Boeing.

`` Throughout this trip I have experienced much goodwill and a keen interest to help the peace process. A strong will to support economic development has been evident in every city I have visited.

`` As I approach the last of my meetings here in the US I feel confident that the hard work put in to make this trip possible and the reaction of the Mayors, Civic Leaders and business people with whom I have met, will ensure that real and tangible benefits for the people of Belfast will emerge.''
