Scappaticci Allegations

Speaking at a Press Conference in Belfast this afternoon Sinn Fein Representative Gerry Kelly confirmed that the Scappaticci family had been in contact with the party and that contrary to media reports Freddie Scappaticci was not in custody and had not left Belfast.

Mr. Kelly said:

"There have been a mass of allegations in the media over the weekend and again today concerning West Belfast man Freddie Scappaticci.

"The Scappaticci family have been in touch with Sinn Fein. We have advised them that Freddie Scappaticci should go to a solicitor and should make a public statement.

"The Scappaticci family have confirmed that contrary to media reports Freddie Scappaticci is not in custody and has not left Belfast." ç
