Doolan welcomes decision to preserve Crampton Buildings for community

Sinn Fein representative for Dublin South East Daithí Doolan welcomed todays decision by the South East Area Committee of Dublin City Council to unanimously reject the proposed re-development of Crampton Buildings in Temple Bar. Local residents were in the public gallery for the decision and welcomed it as a positive development.

Mr. Doolan said:

"I want to welcome todays decision of the South East Area Committee to reject the proposed re-development of Crampton Buildings.

"The residents of Crampton Buildings totally opposed the proposed development by Treasury Holdings and they had my wholehearted support as this development would have isolated and divided a community that has given so much to the area.

"We now need to look at upgrading Crampton Buildings for the residents rather than private developers."
