Kehoe welcomes re-allocation of funding to Cabra Heath Centre
Sinn Fein Councillor for Dublin Central, Nicky Kehoe has welcomed news that the government have overturned their pre-Christmas decision to slash funding for the refurbishment of Cabra Health Centre. He congratulated the members of committee and local residents for their effective campaign in securing the funding and said it would be a great boost for the people of the area.
Councillor Kehoe said:
"It is very welcome news this morning to hear that the government have overturned their pre-Christmas decision and are now going to make up the shortfall of 400,000 so that essential work can be carried out on Cabra Health Centre.
"Last October there was anger throughout Cabra at the decision of Minister for Health to renege on a pre-election promise to allocate funding for the complete re-furbish of the Cabra Health Centre. Since that time local people and the committee have worked together to try and secure the full allocation so that essential work can be carried out. It is a testament to this hard work that they have now been successful."
