Trimble attempts to re-write Agreement unacceptable
Sinn Fein Vice President and MP for West Tyrone Pat Doherty responding to comments from David Trimble this evening said that there could be no unilateral re-writing of the Good Friday Agreement.
Mr. Doherty said:
``The Good Friday Agreement received the mandate of the vast majority of people throughout Ireland. What David Trimble is seeking is a unilateral re-writing of that Agreement. This is unacceptable.
``What is also unacceptable is any attempt to bring forward sanctions against Sinn Fein and the two governments are well aware of this. What is required is that the Good Friday Agreement is implemented in full.''
