Sinn Fein to take Nice campaign to homes throughout Dublin
Sinn Fein TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh speaking to a gathering of party members in the city this morning said he believed that a No vote would be secured in the forthcoming Nice Treaty referendum. He said central to people's concerns is the failure of the government to listen to the decision the first time round and to act on their concerns.
Deputy Ó Snodaigh said:
``Next week Sinn Fein activists in Dublin will begin to canvas homes throughout the city in a bid to secure a No vote in the re-run of the Nice Treaty referendum. This is a task involving hundreds of party members and is something, which I believe will play a decisive role in this campaign.
``It is evident, even at this stage in the campaign that there is a lot of anger out there at the failure of the government to respect the decision of the people. And despite their claims about the Seville Declaration it is clear that what we are being asked to vote on is exactly the same Treaty as we rejected in June 2001. The concerns of the Irish people have been entirely ignored.''
