Kehoe calls for increased resources in Cabra following upsurge in anti-social behaviour
Sinn Fein Dublin City Councillor Nicky Kehoe has called for an increase in Garda resources in and around the Bannow Road area of Cabra. He has been contacted by a number of residents in the area, who claim anti-social behaviour and vandalism has gotten out of control as a result of the large number of youths congregating at the site of last nights fire at the Print Services plant.
Councillor Kehoe said:
``A number of residents on Bannow Road have contacted me in relation to an upsurge in anti-social behaviour and have told me they feel very isolated because of the low level of policing in the area.
``Last nights fire at the Print Services plant has compounded matters. It attracted a large number of youths as spectators - some of whom used the smoke screen to commit further acts of vandalism.
``I am calling on the Gardaí to increase their resources in the area and to meet with local residents to hear their concerns on the matter. I am also calling for improved facilities for young people in the area, as this can be the only way to solve anti-social behaviour in the long run.''
