Sinn Fein meeting with An t-Aire Éamon Ó Cuiv in the Ministers offices in Leinster House

Sinn Fein TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh, representative to an Foras Teanga Gearóid Ó hEára and the party's General Secretary Lucilita Bhreatnach will be meeting with Minister Eamonn Ó Cuiv in Leinster House today,Thursday 12th at 2pm.

This meeting, which was to have taken place in Belfast last week, is taking place against a backdrop of cut-backs which have taken place affecting the work of Foras na Gaeilge (All Ireland Implementation Body). Their budget has been cut by 11%.

The Sinn Fein delegation is concerned about the recent cutbacks and how they could hinder and create obstacles to the development of Irish language projects in Ireland.

Other issues due to be raised  at the meeting include the need for Teilliefís na Gaeilge to have more widespread availability in the Six Counties, as stipulated in the Good Friday Agreement.
