Sinn Fein begin legal action to recover stolen property
Sinn Fein Vice President Pat Doherty has announced that the party has embarked upon legal action to recover the property stolen from their offices in Stormont by the PSNI last Friday.
Mr Doherty said:
``Last night the PSNI in a very calculated and public political action invaded the Sinn Fein offices in Stormont. We have already made a complaint to both the Ombudsman and the Inter Parliamentary Union regarding the conduct of the PSNI.
``It is clear to everybody the invasion of our offices was designed to assist unionism in its current anti-Agreement strategy. Even the UUP Minister Reg Empey has admitted the raid was a `side show'.
``The PSNI found nothing in our offices and removed two disks to assist in their media management of the situation. We have now initiated legal proceedings to recover the property stolen by the PSNI on Friday.''
