Easter Commemorations set to be largest in years

Sinn Fein will this week hold a press conference to announce plans for commemorative events to mark the 86th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising.  The events will be outlined in Stormount buildings on Thursday 7th March at 10.30am by Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP, honorary vice-president Joe Cahill, Dublin Central Councillor Nicky Kehoe and Dublin West representative Mary Lou McDonald.

Speaking in Dublin today Cllr Kehoe said:

"The week Sinn Fein will announce details of over 40 commemorative events to be held across the country on the 31st March and 1st April.  Gerry Adams MP will also make a personal appeal for people to wear an Easter lily to commemorate those who gave their lives in the cause of Irish freedom."
