McLaughlin To Speak In Sligo

The Volunteers Kevin Coen/Joseph MacManus Memorial Committee has announced that the keynote speaker for their tenth annual lecture this weekend is Sinn Fein National Chairperson Mitchel McLaughlin MLA from Derry.

Committee co-ordinator, Dermot McNally said, ``we are delighted that we have got Mitchel McLaughlin to give this year's main address as he is well-renown as a key figure in the ongoing peace process. The theme of this year's lecture, which has become one of the principal republican events in the north-west, is `A New Ireland - A United Ireland?'

Other speakers will include Johnny Connolly of the `Bring Them Home' [Colombia 3] campaign.

The Memorial lecture is being held on Sunday 10th February at 3pm in The Southern Hotel, Sligo.
