``Sinn Fein welcome drugs seizure in Listowel'' - Foley and Curtin

Tralee U.D.C. Sinn Fein councillor Cathal Foley and Listowel U.D.C. councillor Anthony Curtin have welcomed the recent seizure of drugs in Listowel.

In a statement, they said.

``We have always welcomed any successes the Gardai may have in taking drugs off our streets, there is a growing drug problem in parts of North Kerry and beyond and it is in all of our interests that this menace is tackled head on by the Gardai and relevant authorities. Contrary to what Senator Kiely may think we have always urged people to contact the Gardai and pass on any information they may have, and we will continue to do so in the future. We have continually called for extra resources to help the Gardai tackle the drugs problem. The number of Gardai attached to the Drugs Squad at present is totally inadequate and unless the resources are put in place then unfortunately this problem will continue to grow out of hand''.
