Dáil Enterprise & Small Business Committee to visit Stormont tomorrow - Tuesday
The Sinn Fein Vice-President and Chairperson of the Assembly Enterprise, Trade & Investment Committee, West Tyrone MLA Mr Pat Doherty, has praised the Dáil Enterprise & Small Business Committee ahead of its visit to Stormont tomorrow.
Mr Doherty said:
``The visit of the Dáil Enterprise & Small Business Committee to Stormont tomorrow [Tuesday 16 January] is the first visit of any Southern committee to the North. It is an excellent opportunity to look at how things are done in Dublin and, perhaps more importantly, is a vital opportunity to discuss how we improve co-operation.
``Within the area of enterprise, trade and investment we have already seen a lot of activity on an all-Ireland basis. The announcement last week of research into developing an all-Ireland energy market was a positive and pro-active step by both Reg Empey and Mary O'Rourke.
``Energy - and especially how we can improve the situation with regard to generating our energy needs from renewable green supplies, along with the high price paid for both domestic and business users - will be investigated by the Enterprise, Trade & Investment Committee when we launch an inquiry in February.''
