People urged to attend Forgotten Ten ceremonies
Sinn Fein Vice-President Pat Doherty MP, has called on people from across the island to attend the ceremonies for the Forgotten ten in Dublin and Limerick this Sunday and next weekend.
Mr. Doherty will attend the service in the Pro-cathedral, on behalf of his party, alongside Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP, Martin McGuinness MP, Michelle Gildernew MP, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD, Cllr. Seán Crowe and Cllr. Martin Ferris.
Mr. Doherty said:
``The re-interment of the Forgotten Ten will be incredibly emotional for many. Republicans will, no doubt, attend in large numbers. The feedback I am receiving is that Sinn Fein Cumainn throughout the country have organised buses to travel on Sunday and are expecting thousands of members and supporters to make the trip.
``Kevin Barry, Thomas Whelan, Patrick Moran, Frank Flood, Patrick Doyle, Bernard Ryan, Thomas Bryan, Thomas Traynor, Edmond Foley and Patrick Maher were heroes. They gave their lives in the struggle for Irish Freedom.
``For those of us who are still pursuing the just objectives of Freedom, Justice and Peace in an united Ireland, this will prove an appropriate occasion to pay respects to those that came before us. I urge everybody to attend the re-interment ceremonies.''
