DUP already playing central role in Assembly

Sinn Fein Assembly member Conor Murphy has said that the DUP should `stop attempting to stall the political process and come clean to the public and admit they are playing a central role in it'.  Mr. Murphy's remarks come after the DUP were granted leave to seek a judicial review of the British Secretary of State's decision not to call an immediate Assembly election.

Mr. Murphy said:

``The facts of the matter are very clear. The political institutions are back up and running and we have a First and Deputy First Minister in place.

``What is also very clear is the central role which the DUP play in all of this. They work alongside Sinn Fein and all of the other parties on the Assembly committees and they play a full role in the Assembly itself.

``The DUP should come clean on all of this and end their policy of semi-detached Ministers and take up their full role on the Executive.'' ENDS
