Sinn Fein slams `missed opportunity' on Medical card

``A missed opportunity'' is how Sinn Fein spokesperson on health, Aengus Ó Snódaigh described the decision of the Minister for Finance not to extend eligibilty for the medical card scheme.

``Once again we see Charlie McCreevy dishing out benefits to big business and high earners while neglecting those who can't afford proper health care services in this country.

``His decision not to extend eligibility for the medical card scheme is a missed opportunity for a Minister for Finance who has had an abundance of cash at his disposal for last number of budgets.''
