Budget must boost childcare and Old Age Pension and should be launch-pad for all-out attack on housing crisis
Sinn Fein has called on the government to use Wednesday's Budget to utilise the DIRT revenue owed by the banks to boost childcare provision.
Sinn Fein has also called for substantial increases in Child Benefit and the Old Age Pension to be raised to at least £106 per week.
Sinn Fein Ard Chomhairle member Aengus Ó Snodaigh said that the Government needs to use the Budget ``as a launch-pad for an all-out attack on the housing crisis''.
Aengus Ó Snodaigh said:
``The Government now has the opportunity to rectify the neglect and under-funding of previous Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael/Labour Party administrations which have undermined services and created the crises we face in health, education, social services and housing.'' ENDS
