Aldi strike resolution
`Aldi's cheap prices and cheap behaviour'
Sinn Fein has welcomed the announcement that the strike at the Aldi budget retail store in Dublin's Parnell Street has been resolved to the satisfaction of the six workers sacked in a dispute over union recognition.
Dublin City Councillor Nicky Kehoe said:
``The sacked union members at Aldi have put up a tremendous and determined struggle against one of the world's biggest retail chains.
``Aldi may pride themselves in their prices being cheap but their behaviour has been cheap, mean-minded and vindictive.
``Sinn Fein congratulates the sacked workers for their determined stand and their achievement of a settlement in the face of an intransigent management.'' ENDS
