Kerry mobilises in support of Angelo Fusco

Sinn Fein Councillor Martin Ferris has urged people to join a mass rally in Tralee today to oppose the extradition of Angelo Fusco. The rally begins at 2pm at the Mall in Tralee.

Kerry County Councillor and Ard Chomhairle member Martin Ferris said:

``The governments pursuit of Angelo Fusco on extradition warrants has caused a lot of anger throughout Ireland but particularly in Tralee where Angelo and his family live. There is a high level of public support for the Fusco family and a lot of people from this area want to see the extradition warrant scrapped. This sentiment is evident in the motions which were passed by Tralee UDC and Listowel UDC.

``This is an issue of concern to everyone across the political spectrum perturbed by the indecent haste by certain agencies to extradite Angelo Fusco in clear breach of the spirit and the terms of the Good Friday Agreement. We continue to call on the government to recind the warrants against Angelo Fusco.''ENDS
