    Organisation and Political Policy

  1. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fheis believes a committee should be established to develop a coherent economic policy, based on a clear strategy and set of objectives on the economies of Six and 26 Counties.

The purpose of this is to have a clear defined Socialist position which will allow Sinn Fein to comment upon economic matters in a comprehensive and authoritative manner. The outcome should be a socialist programme which the party and people can understand and identify with.

    Cumann Barney Boswell, North Belfast

  2. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fheis believes that in order to retain our position as a radical party for change, Sinn Fein must maintain its campaigning capacity and employ more imaginative methods of mobilising our supporters, so that we continue to influence public opinion and move our political opponents on the issues that concern us most.

    Cumann Tony Aherne, Clones

  3. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fheis consider the appointment of specific spokespersons for each government Ministry in the 26 counties, in order to achieve the greatest possible platform for the Sinn Fein alternative to the current 26 counties political cartel.

    Comhairle Ceantair Louth

  4. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fheis believes that rank and file cumainn members should meet at county-wide mini Ard Fheiseanna at least once a year to become better acquainted with one another and to broaden the base for constructive political debate.

Cumann Joe Clarke, Baile Átha Cliath

  5. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fhies urges Sinn Fein to campaign for full voting rights for all Irish people over the age of 16.

Cumann McCabe/Quigley, Ballymun, Baile Átha Cliath

  6. Support the motion   Oppose the motion

That this Ard Fheis supports a campaign to end the use of the terms ``Northern Ireland'' and ``Republic of Ireland'' for addresses. There is no practical or legal requirement for anyone to use these partitionist terms. All international mail can reach anywhere in the 32 Counties under the county name and Ireland. The business section in particular should be lobbied along with the public in general.

    Cumann Orr/McCracken, Antrim
